I was in Ft. St. James in 1950 and 1952 with my father, a geologist from Wisconsin. I have a few 35 mm slides from those trips, including one of a Junkers float plane and of the General Store and its owners. I was 12 yrs old in 1950. Does anyone there remember Ed Hoy and/or "Sheboygan Joe," both of whom ran chartered boat trips? We used their services to go up to Tremblear Lake.

A Fort St. Jamian, I work with here remembers growing up there in his youth, that he saw a plaque saying Fort St. James was the capital of British Columbia. I think it might have said fur-trading capital. Can you verify? E-mail me at hrmiller@xplonet.com

I have never been to a town that has so many drunk people hanging around and no sign of police anywhere.
